Shamrock was a Marvel Comics heroine, making her first appearance in 1982's Marvel Super Hero Contest of Champions, a series which introduced a whole slew of international superheroes, each packed with more cultural stereotypes than the last. Shamrock, for example, was Molly Fitzgerald. She had good-luck powers, her da was in the IRA, her brother - Paddy - was killed in an IRA bomb blast, and, although you can't see it, under her green shamrock costume she's got flaming red hair.
